Undergraduate Course Management Policy

Summary

The Undergraduate Course Management Policy outlines the key responsibilities of instructors in managing undergraduate courses. Instructors must provide detailed course outlines at the start of each course, including course content, learning objectives, evaluation methods, and advisory statements. These outlines must be made available to students at least two weeks before classes begin and remain on file for ten years. Instructors must ensure that students receive early feedback, with a minimum percentage of the final grade provided before critical academic deadlines.

Instructors are also responsible for supporting academic accommodations, including those for disabilities and religious observances, while designing assessments that allow flexibility. They must maintain academic integrity by using approved plagiarism detection tools while respecting students’ privacy during the submission, grading, and return of academic work. Instructors are encouraged to adopt inclusive practices, ensure compliance with University policies, and sufficiently retain examination papers and other graded materials.
